The best rank tracking tools in 2026, compared
Published 23 October 2026 · Every vendor page read 23 October 2026
A rank tracker checks where your pages sit in Google for a list of keywords, from a chosen country, city and device, and records the position every day or every week so you can see movement. The eight below range from a free tier that tracks five keywords to agency plans that track twenty thousand, and most now flag whether an AI Overview sits above the organic results.
The one thing to know before the table: a "keyword" is not the same unit at any two vendors. Advanced Web Ranking counts weekly checks, so daily tracking costs seven units per keyword. Nightwatch and Mangools count each device or location as a separate keyword. ProRankTracker counts "Terms" (keyword plus URL plus engine, location and device). Wincher counts per device and reports only to position 30. A plan that says "2,000 keywords" may track 2,000 queries once a week on one device, or 285 queries daily. Each section converts the vendor's unit into plain words.
How this comparison was made. We read each vendor's own pricing, feature and help pages on 23 October 2026 and wrote down what they said, with the page it came from; where a page did not state something, the table says so. Screenshots are of each vendor's public website on that day. Prices are the published price before tax and they change without notice, so check the vendor's page before you buy.
Nobody paid to be here. No vendor paid to be included, and none can pay to be ranked, which is why the table is in no particular order. If we ever carry a paid placement it will be labelled as one, on the page, next to the listing. Our own product is in the table because leaving it out would be the dishonest option; what the others do better is stated in its own section. Corrections from vendors are welcome at support@otwmotion.com.
The eight tools at a glance
Prices are each vendor's published price before tax, read on 23 October 2026, monthly billing where the vendor shows it; two vendors price in euros and one shows a single price without saying which billing it is. "Keywords at entry" is in the vendor's own unit, explained in its section.

In no particular order. "Refresh" is the vendor's own statement about the entry plan; on-demand rechecks are noted where the vendor states them and often sit one tier up.
AccuRanker
Agencies and in-house teams starting at 2,000 keywords who want daily Google data, Search Console and an API, and are willing to buy through a demo
- Starts at
- Professional, $224 a month at the 2,000-keyword step (steps to 3,000 and 5,000), with a 10% discount for annual payment. The page shows one price per plan and does not say whether $224 is the monthly or the discounted figure. Expert is $764 a month at 10,000 keywords.
- Keywords and refresh
- 2,000 keywords updated daily, with an on-demand refresh of a single keyword or the whole domain every two hours at no stated charge.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google by default, with set-up guides for YouTube and Baidu; desktop and mobile; country and language down to a city or an address.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- Google AI Overview is among the SERP features its help centre documents; AI Mode and prompt tracking are a separate product, AccuLLM. Search Console and Analytics connect on Professional. Branded reports with your logo; the read API and Looker Studio start at Expert.
AccuRanker is the daily-data specialist: every keyword every day, two-hourly refreshes when you need them, keyword research, search intent and tagging, with Search Console on the entry plan and an unmetered API one tier up. It is built for the 2,000-plus keyword buyer and does not pretend otherwise.
There is no self-serve trial; the free-trial URL redirects to a demo booking, and the only free thing is a SERP checker allowing five searches a day. Domains and users on the entry plan are not stated, and the single price per plan leaves the billing basis to a script we could not read.
SE Ranking
Teams that want Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube rank tracking and AI-answer prompt tracking in one subscription, and can live with six months of history at entry
- Starts at
- Core, $129 a month billed monthly or $103.20 billed annually, for 10 projects, 1 manager seat, 2,000 keywords tracked daily, 100 AI prompts a day across 5 LLMs, and 6 months of history. Growth is $279 or $223.20 for 5,000 keywords and all-time history.
- Keywords and refresh
- 2,000 keywords daily in Google's top 100. An on-demand recheck is described in its help centre, which blocked our reads, so that detail is unverified here.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google, Bing, Yahoo and YouTube, plus Google Maps through its local tracker; desktop and mobile; any city, region or postcode, with 3 local locations included at entry.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- 35+ SERP elements, with AI Overviews as their own tab, and tracking in AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT and Gemini within the 100 daily prompts; an AI Search add-on is $89 a month for more. Search Console, GA4, Looker Studio and Matomo connect at entry. White label needs the Agency Pack at $69 a month on annual billing; a projects API is included, the data API is an add-on.
SE Ranking's entry plan is unusually full: four search engines, 2,000 daily keywords, local tracking with 1,500 map keywords, Share of Voice, ten report-builder reports, Search Console and GA4, and AI-answer prompt tracking in the same subscription. For a team that wants rank tracking and AI visibility in one bill, it is the most complete entry plan here.
The entry plan keeps only six months of history, which matters for a tool whose point is movement over time; all-time history is the reason to pay for Growth. White label is an annual-only add-on, extra keywords start from $22.40, and one active session per account is enforced. Its help centre returned a bot challenge to every fetch, so the recheck policy is from a search summary, not from the page.
Nightwatch
Small teams and agencies that want multi-engine tracking, an AI Overview position per keyword and no per-seat fees, priced in euros
- Starts at
- Starter, EUR 79 a month shown as EUR 948 billed yearly with "save EUR 240"; by the vendor's own figures that makes about EUR 99 a month billed monthly, a figure we derived because the page does not print it. A 30% Black Friday banner was live when we read it. Professional is EUR 159 a month yearly for 2,500 keywords and adds white label, the API and Looker Studio.
- Keywords and refresh
- 500 keywords checked daily, where each location, engine or device variation is a separate keyword. The pricing page offers on-demand checks; a 2024 docs article says on-demand updates are not supported. Ask which is true today.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google, YouTube, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo and Google Maps on every plan; desktop, mobile and tablet; 107,000+ locations across 190+ countries down to postcode.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- An AI Snippet rank column tracks whether you appear in the AI Overview (top three places) for every keyword on every plan, and AI Overview and AI Mode are listed as prompt-tracking platforms with 50 prompts a month at entry. Search Console and Analytics connect, with keyword import from Search Console. White label and the REST API start at Professional.
Nightwatch gives the small plan the whole engine list and the AI Overview flag per keyword, with 5 websites, 5 competitors each, 1,000 site-audit pages and 100 keyword researches a month, and no per-seat fees in its headline. For a small agency on several engines, the entry plan does a lot.
Its own pages disagree with each other in three places: on-demand checks (offered on pricing, denied in docs), unlimited seats (headline yes, comparison table withholds it from Starter), and the monthly price (not printed; derived from its savings line). The 500-keyword count also shrinks fast once you track mobile and desktop, or two cities, because each is its own keyword.
Wincher
Single-site owners and small teams tracking Google only who want a low-friction daily tracker with Search Console and a free tier
- Starts at
- Basic, "starting at 49 EUR/USD per month" by its own help centre article of 2024, with two months free on annual billing; the pricing page's prices render by script and were not readable to us. A 7-day trial of Pro, and a free plan of 1 website, 5 keywords and 1 competitor to fall back to.
- Keywords and refresh
- From 500 keywords, counted per device, updated every 24 hours. On-demand updates start at the Standard tier (from 89 EUR or USD). Rankings are reported only to position 30 since September 2025.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google only, with Google Maps through its local tracker; desktop or mobile chosen per website profile, each device counting as a separate website; market set by Google country.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- SERP features on every tier, with AI Overview listed among them in its help centre; AI Mode is not named anywhere we read. Search Console connects on every tier. White-label reports and the API start at Standard.
Wincher is the simplest tracker here: Google, daily, Search Console, export, up to 10 websites on the entry plan, with a free tier real enough to keep a small site on. The 7-day trial runs the Pro tier.
It tracks Google only and reports to position 30 only, so a "top 100" comparison with the other seven is not like for like. The entry plan has one user and no on-demand updates, and the published prices live in a 2024 help article because the pricing page would not render for us; confirm them on the page.
Mangools SERPWatcher
Individuals and small sites that accept weekly updates in exchange for a low-priced SEO bundle; not a daily tracker below the Agency plan
- Starts at
- Basic, $49 a month billed monthly or $358.80 a year (about $29.90 a month), for 200 tracked keywords and no extra seats, read from the vendor's own plan data file because the pricing table renders by script. Premium is $69 for 700 keywords; Agency is $129 for 1,500 and is the only plan with daily updates. A free plan exists without a card; its limits are not stated.
- Keywords and refresh
- 200 keywords, where a keyword tracked on desktop and mobile counts as two, updated weekly on Basic and Premium and daily on Agency. On-demand refresh is not stated.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google only; desktop and mobile; more than 65,000 locations including states, counties, cities and DMA regions.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- SERP features are a feature of its sister tool SERPChecker, not SERPWatcher, and AI Overviews and AI Mode are not named for it; a separate AI Search Watcher exists. Search Console is not stated; a Looker Studio connector is. White-label shared reports with logo, colours and a custom domain; the API is a separate product.
SERPWatcher is one tool in the Mangools bundle, which is the point: the price buys keyword research, SERP analysis and backlink tools as well. The interface is known for being pleasant, and the 48-hour refund and the free plan make it easy to try.
It is weekly unless you pay for Agency, which puts it in a different category from the daily trackers above for anyone watching a launch or a penalty. Google only, no SERP-feature tracking in the tracker itself, no stated Search Console connection, and 200 keywords that halve the moment you track both devices.
ProRankTracker
Agencies that count tracking in keyword-and-location combinations and want white-label reports and AI Overview tracking on the entry plan
- Starts at
- Starter, $99 a month billed monthly or $89 billed annually, for 1,000 Terms with unlimited URLs and projects. Pro is $149 ($134 annual) for 2,000 Terms and adds 10 users, Insta-Checks and Looker Studio; Agency plans from $199 add the API and on-demand updates. 7-day trial of 100 Terms with every feature, no card.
- Keywords and refresh
- A Term is one keyword plus one URL plus one engine, location and device; an AI prompt uses two Terms. Daily top-100 updates; on-demand updates on Agency plans; instant checks are a separate pay-as-you-go credit product from $95.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google organic on desktop and mobile across all Google sites, Google Business Profile and Maps to the top 100, YouTube and Google Videos; all locations worldwide in any language.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- AI Overviews and AI Mode results are named on the Starter card, as are AI platforms (LLMs). Search Console is not stated. All reports are white label; Pro adds unlimited reports and a client app; the API is Agency only.
ProRankTracker prices the thing agencies actually track, the keyword-location-device combination, and gives the entry plan white-label reports, Maps tracking and AI Overview results. Unlimited URLs and projects at entry suit a long client list of small sites.
Terms go further than keywords in some shapes and less far in others: one keyword in three cities on two devices is six Terms. Users on Starter are not stated, instant checks and on-demand updates are paid or gated, and downgrades carry no prorated refund.
Advanced Web Ranking
Teams that need engines beyond Google and location precision, and that understand the weekly-unit arithmetic before comparing keyword counts
- Starts at
- Pro, $139 a month billed monthly, with 10% off annually (the annual figure renders by script), for 7,000 keyword units, unlimited projects and users. Agency is $279 for 14,500 units and adds hourly on-demand updates, the API and Looker Studio. 7-day trial, no card, and a 30-day money-back line.
- Keywords and refresh
- A unit is one query a week on one engine and one device to a depth of five pages; daily tracking spends seven units, so 7,000 units is 1,000 keywords daily or 7,000 weekly. Updates can be daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or on demand; one-hour updates start at Agency.
- Engines, devices, locations
- 4,000+ search engines including YouTube, Amazon, Bing, Yahoo, Baidu, Naver, Seznam and DuckDuckGo; desktop and mobile; any country, city or GPS coordinate, with Local Pack results.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- Full SERP feature analysis, and AI Visibility tracking of Google AI Mode and AI Overviews with AI citations and mentions on the Pro plan. Search Console, Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools and Looker Studio connect. White label with your logo and domain; the API is Agency and up.
Advanced Web Ranking has the widest engine list by far and the most flexible schedule, from monthly to hourly, with unlimited projects and users and an AI visibility layer on the entry plan. Where the others count keywords, it counts checks, which is honest about what you are buying once you understand it.
That same unit makes its headline number look seven times larger than a daily tracker's, so compare 1,000 daily keywords, not 7,000 units. Keywords beyond the plan are simply not fetched, the API is a tier up, and the annual prices did not render as text.
Semrush Rank Tracking
Teams already buying the Semrush suite who want daily Google tracking with AI Overview flags; a costly choice for rank tracking alone
- Starts at
- The SEO plan, $139 a month billed monthly or $117.33 billed annually, buys the whole Semrush suite with 5 websites and 500 keywords tracked daily; Share of Voice and multi-location tracking are not included until Pro+ at $299 for 1,500 keywords. Extra users start at $45 a month. A free plan allows one demo project and 10 reports a day; a 7-day trial exists.
- Keywords and refresh
- 500 keywords daily in Google's top 100; an on-demand recheck is not stated. Position Tracking is now called Rank Tracking in the navigation; the knowledge base keeps the old name.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google, Bing and Baidu (national, desktop only), plus ChatGPT Search and Google AI Mode through the AI SEO toolkit; desktop, mobile and tablet; country, state, city or postcode.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- Featured snippets, video carousels, AI Overviews and local packs are identified per keyword on the entry plan; AI Mode rankings and prompt tracking sit in the AI Search tiers from $199. Keywords import from Search Console at setup; combined reports with GA4 and Search Console need the $10 Base Report add-on, and branding and white label the $20 Pro Report add-on. The API is on the Advanced plan.
If you already pay for Semrush, its tracker is in the box: daily Google positions for 500 keywords with AI Overview flags, Bing and Baidu, and the rest of the suite's research tools around it. Semrush restructured its plans this year to SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, so older articles quoting Pro, Guru and Business are describing a ladder that no longer exists.
Bought for rank tracking alone it is the dearest per keyword on this page, Share of Voice and multi-location tracking wait for the $299 tier, white label is a paid add-on, and the knowledge base still cites plan names the pricing page has retired.
OTW Signal SEO (that's us)
A business that wants to see the positions Google itself reports for its own site, free, with a view that says which searches are worth a push, and does not need to track a keyword list or competitors
- Starts at
- Free for every business, with no plan to pick. Connecting Google Search Console is optional and read-only: we read your search data and cannot change anything in your account, and you can remove access any time from Google.
- Keywords and refresh
- Not a keyword list. Position Tracking shows every search Google reports for your own site, with impressions set against position and a marked zone of searches worth a push, refreshed each time Search Console syncs.
- Engines, devices, locations
- Google only, from your own Search Console, with a Devices and Countries screen for the split Google reports.
- AI Overviews, Search Console, reports, API
- No SERP features, no AI Overview flags, no competitor positions, no keyword volume database, no backlinks. AI visibility, the Console's one paid part, starts at $59 a month or $590 a year: 20 buyer questions on Google AI Overview, asked weekly, with every answer kept word for word. It scales up to seven AI engines (ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot on Bing), up to 8 asks per question and daily runs, with a 7-day free trial that measures daily on three engines. No white label, no API for SEO data.
Seven SEO screens, all free: a dashboard with the trend, winners and losers and click opportunities; Position Tracking as a map of impressions against position; Keywords; Pages; Page Ideas that say what to change on each page and why; Two Pages, One Search for pages competing with each other; Devices and Countries; and a Site Audit that reads up to 40 pages of your site with a fix suggestion for each problem. It all comes from Google's own report of your site, in the same Console as your social calendar, your Meta ad spend and your AI visibility measurement.
What the others do better, stated plainly. Every tracker above lets you choose the keywords and watches them whether or not Google is already showing you for them; we show only the searches Google reports you appearing for. All of them track competitors; we track none here. Most flag AI Overviews and SERP features; we do not. Several cover Bing, YouTube or thousands of engines; we read Google only. If you need to watch a keyword list, a competitor or an engine other than Google, pick one of them. If you want the positions Google itself reports for your site, free, with a view of where a small push would pay, start here.

FAQ
What is the difference between a rank tracker and Google Search Console?
Search Console reports the searches Google already showed your site for, with impressions, clicks and average position, for free. A rank tracker checks a keyword list you choose, from a chosen location and device, every day, whether or not you appear yet, and does the same for competitors. If you want to know where you stand on the searches you are already in, Search Console (and tools built on it, like OTW Signal SEO) is enough. If you want to watch a target list, a competitor or a city you do not rank in yet, you need a tracker.
Why do keyword counts differ so much between trackers at similar prices?
Because the unit differs. Advanced Web Ranking counts weekly checks, so 7,000 units is 1,000 keywords checked daily. Nightwatch and Mangools count each device or location separately, so one keyword on desktop and mobile in two cities is four. ProRankTracker counts Terms, which bundle a keyword with a URL, engine, location and device. Wincher counts per device and only reports to position 30. Convert every plan to "queries, per day, per device, per location" before you compare.
Which rank trackers show whether an AI Overview appears for my keywords?
Among the eight, Nightwatch (an AI Snippet rank column on every plan), Semrush (AI Overviews identified per keyword on the entry plan), SE Ranking (AI Overviews as a tab, plus AI Mode and ChatGPT within its daily prompts), AccuRanker (AI Overview among its documented SERP features), ProRankTracker (AI Overviews and AI Mode named on the Starter card) and Advanced Web Ranking (AI Visibility tracking on Pro) all state it. Wincher names AI Overview in its help centre only; Mangools SERPWatcher does not name it. Note the two different things being sold: a flag on a keyword's result page, and a separate prompt-tracking product.
